In conjunction with the 78th Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference (MLC) in Columbus, Ohio, the MLC Criminal Justice & Public Safety Committee will meet on Sunday, July 21, in Columbus, Ohio, and hold a policy session on Monday, July 22.
The July 21 meeting — open to all MLC Annual Meeting attendees — will feature presentations on how data, evidence-based policy and legislative oversight can drive improvements to state criminal justice systems. This meeting will feature Ben Eikey, manager of state training and development at Wayne State Law School’s Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy, and guest speakers from the CSG Justice Center. On July 22, experts from the Justice Center will discuss tools and strategies for states to address crime and improve public safety.
