2025 MLC Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee Meeting

In conjunction with the 79th Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference in Saskatoon, Sask., the MLC Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee will meet and lead policy sessions. The MLC Annual Meeting is being held July 27-30.

During these sessions, participating legislators will explore the potential of virtual health hubs and telehealth to improve access to quality, advanced-care health services in the rural areas of states and provinces as well as learn about Saskatchewan’s new Agricultural Water Stewardship Policy. Other opportunities include touring a uniquely run family farm in Saskatchewan and taking part in a Breakfast Table Topic discussion based on the work of the Global Institute for Food Security in Saskatchewan.

The MLC Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee meets at least once a year as part of the MLC Annual Meeting, most recently in Columbus, Ohio, in 2024 and Detroit in 2023. Other committee-led activities include hosting webinars and in-person workshops for legislators, developing policy resources and providing individualized research assistance.
