2025 MLC Midwest-Canada Relations Committee Meeting

In conjunction with the 79th Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference in Saskatoon, Sask., the MLC Midwest-Canada Relations Committee will meet and lead policy sessions for participating legislators and other attendees.

During these sessions, participating legislators will explore the future of nuclear energy policy and development in both countries, the cross-border energy relationship, and the impact of U.S.-Canada trade in the Midwest.

The Midwest-Canada Relations Committee meets at least once a year as part of the MLC Annual Meeting, most recently in Columbus, Ohio, in 2024 and Detroit in 2023. Other committee-led activities include hosting webinars, developing policy resources, providing research assistance for legislators and staff, and facilitating legislative exchanges among the region’s states and provinces.
