Extended Producer Responsibility: A Review of Laws That Aim to Reduce Packaging Waste (Webinar)

Open to all, this webinar was designed for legislators, legislative staff, and other policy leaders. Participants learned about Extended Producer Responsibility laws and programs, including those in place in the Great Lakes region on both sides of the U.S-Canada border.

This webinar was being jointly by the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus and The Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Legislative Conference Energy and Environment Committee. Currently, seven states, including Minnesota, require producers of packaging materials to pay for programs aimed at recycling or reusing packaging to keep it out of landfills.
