About the workshop: A deep-dive on AI for legislators

This workshop was designed for legislators from the Midwest who are making crucial decisions about the future of artificial intelligence in their states and provinces. The goal was to help participants become more informed leaders on AI and to learn about the state policies that can harness its benefits while mitigating its risks.

“Shaping the AI Future in Your State: A Workshop for the Midwest’s Legislators” was the result of a partnership between The Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Office and the Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (EPI Center). The center is a nonpartisan, non-advocacy program housed within the American Association for the Advancement of Science. CSG Midwest offered the workshop as part of its support of the bipartisan Midwestern Legislative Conference.
