CSG Midwest brings Under the Dome programming on property tax policy to South Dakota
What options are available for states to provide property tax relief? What policies have been enacted or are being considered in the region’s legislatures?
Those questions and more were the subject of informational sessions held for South Dakota legislators in early February. Joe Dell’Olio, CSG Midwest staff liaison for the Midwestern Legislative Conference Fiscal Affairs Forum, delivered presentations in the Capitol that included comparative data on property tax burdens and reliance on this revenue source by local governments, common policy levers used by states to provide tax relief, and examples of notable new laws and legislative proposals across the 11-state Midwest.
Through its Under the Dome program, and as part of its support for the nonpartisan Midwestern Legislative Conference, CSG Midwest partners with legislative leadership and/or legislators in individual states to offer customized learning opportunities.
