2021 MLC Economic Development Committee Meeting

The MLC Economic Committee met for for three sessions in Rapid City, South Dakota, during the 75th Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Legislative Conference.

First, on Sunday, July 11, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m., the Committee Meeting featured a legislative roundtable and a presentation on addressing community needs to foster economic and workforce development.

Then, on Monday, July 12, from 10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., the Committee-Sponsored Session focused on the future of work and employment in a post-pandemic economy.  Read the Stateline Midwest article on this session.

Finally, on Tuesday, July 13, from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., the committee teamed up with the MLC Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee and the MLC Education Committee for a session on vocational education models that prepare talent for high-demand, high-wage careers.  Read the Stateline Midwest article on this session.
