Win-Win Potential of Anaerobic Digesters: Helping Farmers Invest in Projects that Protect the Environment [Past Webinar]

This webinar focused on policy and funding opportunities to help expand the use of on-farm anaerobic digesters. It was organized by the CSG Midwestern Legislative Conference Agriculture & Rural Affairs Committee, and led by federal AgSTAR experts. AgSTAR is a collaborative program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Agriculture that promotes the use of biogas recovery systems to reduce methane emissions from livestock waste.

Medicaid Policy in 2024: A Look at the Year Ahead, and the Ongoing Role of Legislative Oversight [Past Webinar]

In this Dec. 13 webinar, one of the nation’s leading policy experts on Medicaid examined important recent developments in this critical public insurance program, as well as some of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for state legislators and other leaders. Participants also learned about the tools and options available to the legislative branch regarding oversight of Medicaid, which made up close to 30 percent of total state spending in fiscal year 2023 and provides health insurance to about 20 percent of the people living in the United States. Resources from the webinar are now available.

The Future of the Midwest’s Energy Workforce: A Policy Workshop for Legislators

This in-person meeting was a unique learning opportunity for Midwestern state and provincial legislators. Registration was free and travel stipends were available to attend the event, which was be held Nov. 17-18 in the Chicago area. Registration for this event was open to all legislators and was accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space was limited.
